This tutorial shows step-by-step instructions on how to flash Stock ROM or any Custom ROM using Smart Phone Flash Tool (SP Flash Tool) on Windows Computer.
Before you proceed with the flashing process, it is recommended to follow the preparation steps mentioned below to ensure the flashing process completes smoothly.
Preparations:
- If possible, back up all of your essential data to your computer. As flashing firmware wipes all of your data and settings.
- Make sure your Android device is sufficiently charged. It is recommended to charge your device to at least 50-60% before performing the flashing process.
Flash Stock ROM using Smart Phone Flash Tool (SP Flash Tool)
Step 1: Download and Install required Android USB Drivers on your computer. If in case you already have the Android drivers installed, skip this step.
Step 2: Download the Stock ROM or Custom ROM for your Android device and extract it on your computer.
Step 3: Download and extract SP Flash Tool on your computer. Once extracted, you will see the following files, as shown in the image below.
Step 4: Launch Smartphone Flash Tool by double-clicking on “Flash_Tool.exe” file.
Step 5: Once the SP Flash Tool is launched, click on the “Download” tab.
Step 6: Now click on the “scatter-loading” button.
Step 7: Locate the Scatter File (you will find the scatter file inside the firmware folder, which you have extracted in Step #2). For reference, see the image below.
Step 8: Now click on the “Download” button to begin the flashing process.
Step 9: Power off your Android device and remove the battery (if it is removable).
Step 10: Now, connect your Smartphone to the computer using the USB cable (without battery if it is removable). After connecting the device to computer press Volume Down or Volume Up button, so that the flash tool can easily detect your Smartphone.
Step 11: Once the device is detected, the flashing process should start, and firmware will be installed on your phone. When finished, you will see a “Download Ok” window with Green ring with a tick.
Step 12: Now, close the SP Flash Tool, disconnect your device from the computer, insert the battery (If it was removed) and power on your device.
